Terms of Business
Missed Appointments:
Appointment slots are booked for 15 minutes, if you are running late, please ring ahead to tell us. Occasionally the vet may be running behind time due to unexpected circumstances in a consultation, we will try to keep you updated of any delay.
We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise that may result in a missed appointment. If 2 consecutive appointments are missed, we reserve the right to charge a deposit for the next appointment booked. It may also be necessary to charge a deposit when longer than normal appointments are booked eg multiple animals or litters of puppies or kittens. The deposit will be put towards the cost of your appointment when it takes place.

Fees:
Fee levels are determined by the professional time spent on a case, the drugs, specialised equipment and other consumables used. We will happily provide a written estimate as to the probable costs of a course of treatment or surgical procedure. Please bear in mind that any estimate given can be only approximate, as a pet’s illness may not follow the expected course. A detailed breakdown of fees is available on request for each transaction.
All fees, drugs and diet charges are subject to VAT at the current rate. In order to keep costs to a minimum, we ask that accounts are settled at the time of consultation or on collection of your pet from the hospital. To facilitate payment we are happy to accept most credit or debit cards, cheques and cash. In general, we ask that insured clients settle outstanding accounts and then reclaim monies back. However, in some circumstances, a direct insurance claim may be possible.
Ownership of records:
Case records remain the property of the practice and need to be retained by the practice. This includes radiographs, laboratory reports and ultrasound scan pictures. Even though a charge is made for these investigations and interpretation of the results, ownership of the resulting records remains with the practice. If an animal is referred or attends a dierent veterinary practice, copies of the case notes and other relevant documentation will be passed to the attending veterinary surgeon on request.
Prescription Policy:
In accordance with RCVS recommendations. All pets receiving long term prescription only medication are required to be re-examined regularly by a veterinary surgeon. The frequency of the re-examination, which carries a charge, is dependent on the nature of the drug prescribed and the condition being treated. Your veterinary surgeon will advise you how often your pet needs to be seen. This is generally four times a year.
Written prescriptions are available on request and incur an additional charge. Long-term drugs obtained on a written prescription are still subject to the same re-examination protocol as prescription drugs supplied in house. Please give 48 hours notice for repeat prescriptions, written or otherwise, including food orders.
Security:
Please note our telephone calls are recorded for training and monitoring purposes.
We also have CCTV in operation at all branches for our security and yours.
If you have any questions or concerns over the use of these recordings, please contact
