K-Laser & Physio Therapy

Laser Therapy

The key to renewed pet health

K-Laser offer the most advanced Class IV therapy laser platform in the veterinary world. It is a treatment option with fast-acting results, particularly in arthritic patients, other chronic pain sufferers or in aiding wound healing. Working alongside all existing medical care given by your vet, laser therapy allows your furry friend to live life to the fullest again. In some instances, it can allow medication to be reduced or stopped completely.

How does it actually work?

Infrared laser light reacts with the cells it contacts, stimulating the body to send more oxygen and nutrients to the targeted area. In doing so, the cells then have greater levels of the energy they need, leading to healthier disease management or injury healing process. For pets with chronic inflammation issues, the redness, swelling and day-to day pain become less apparent, and their walking improves; usually after the first or second treatment.

What should I expect?

There is no pain during the treatment, they simply feel a gentle warmth making the
process usually very relaxing! You will remain with your pet throughout the appointment which is often less than 15 minutes in total. This isn’t just limited to dogs either, any furry friend is welcome.

Please contact our Physiotherapist on [email protected] to discuss your pets particular requirements or arrange an appointment.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a referred service lead by our own BSc Veterinary Physiotherapist, Hannah Westhead. Veterinary Physiotherapy relies on advanced knowledge of Anatomy and to incorporate stretches, massage techniques, exercises, electrotherapies and other tools to reduce pain and inflammation, strengthen and return function. It is a relaxing, positive experience that your pet will soon look forward to coming to!

Your pet may be referred for Physiotherapy after a diagnosis of a degenerative condition such as osteoarthritis, injury or wounds, post-operative or even neurological trauma such as paralysis. Each pet referred for Physiotherapy is carefully assessed with a hands-on examination in our specialist rehabilitation room and receives a unique plan tailored to suit both of you.
