Referrals

We have several veterinary surgeons that have special interests and further qualifications in a variety of specialties and in-house referral can be arranged for those animals with more complex cases. These areas include dermatology, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging (ultrasound, radiography and endoscopy) and soft tissue surgery. In addition to our own vets, we have visiting practitioners with additional qualifications and expertise in certain areas.

Referring veterinary practices are requested to provide patient and owner information using our referrals form.

Dermatology

Andrea Bookless MA Vet MB, Cert VD MRCVS holds the RCVS Certificate in veterinary dermatology with years of experience dealing with chronic, complicated and often frustrating skin diseases that affect our domestic pets. Andrea is on the RCVS Advanced Practitioners list.

Orthopaedic Surgery

DVM Krzysztof Herman EMSAVM – Surgery, Cert SAS, MRCVS, is a highly skilled veterinary surgeon and an Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery. He specialises in orthopaedics and spinal surgery, with a particular interest in lameness investigations, cruciate rupture, patella problems, and complex fracture repairs. Kris is based at Garstang, allowing us to provide a higher level of surgical care directly at our practice and ensuring your pet receives expert treatment in a familiar environment.

Cardiology

Christopher Fellows BVMS Cert VC MRCVS holds the RCVS certificate in veterinary cardiology and visits the practice on a regular basis to investigate heart and chest problems. Christopher is on the RCVS Advanced Practitioners list.

Dentistry

Alex Smithson BVM&S, MRCVS, BDS (Hons) holds qualifications in veterinary dentistry and visits the practice to take referrals for oral and maxillo-facial surgery including root canal work and treatment of oral tumours. Pets requiring other specialists are referred when necessary, to a variety of specialist centres within the North West region.

Soft Tissue Surgery

Catherine Sturgeon BVetMed, CertSAS, DipECVS, MRCVS of Visiting Vet Specialists, is an RCVS and ECVS recognised specialist in soft tissue surgery. Catherine travels to our practice for more complex soft tissue surgery cases including airway surgeries, abdominal surgeries, thoracic surgeries and more.

Diagnostic Imaging
