Charity & Sponsorship

Fundraising

Each year at Lanes Vets, we come together as a practice to support two charities close to the hearts of our team and our clients. This year, we’re proud to be raising funds for Dogs for Good and PAPYRUS — two incredible organisations making a real difference both locally and around the world.

Over the years, we’ve had so much fun fundraising together — from bake sales and book sales to walking an ‘Almost Marathon’ and the Guild Wheel, hosting Bingo nights, and even organising a dog show! Thanks to the amazing generosity of our clients, we’ve already exceeded our £1,000 per charity target this year — something we’re incredibly proud of.

If you’d like to help us raise even more for these wonderful causes, please click the link below to donate. Every contribution, big or small, makes a meaningful difference.

Thank you for being part of our caring community

Current Charities

The final balance raised by Lanes Vets will be split equally between the two charities.

Dogs For Good

Dogs for Good (formerly Dogs for the Disabled) is a UK-based charity that trains assistance, community, and family dogs to help people with physical disabilities, autism, and dementia live more independent lives. They focus on creating life-changing partnerships that provide practical, emotional, and social support, with over 300 trained dogs working nationwide.

Dogs for Good (formerly Dogs for the Disabled) is a UK charity transforming lives through expertly trained dogs. For over 30 years, it has created life-changing partnerships that support people with physical disabilities, autism and dementia to live more independently.

With more than 300 trained dogs working nationwide, Dogs for Good provides Assistance Dogs that offer practical help — such as retrieving items and opening doors — alongside emotional reassurance and confidence-building support.

The charity also delivers Family Focused workshops to help families strengthen relationships with their pet dogs, and works in schools, care homes and community settings to provide structured, therapeutic dog-assisted programmes that enhance wellbeing, learning and social interaction.

PAPYRUS

PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide is the UK’s national charity dedicated to preventing suicide in young people under 35. Founded in 1997 by bereaved parents, the organisation works to reduce youth suicide by challenging stigma, providing direct support, and equipping communities with the skills to help save young lives.

Now operating across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, PAPYRUS delivers its confidential helpline, HOPELINE247, which is available 24/7 via call, text and email. Staffed by trained suicide prevention advisers, the service supports young people experiencing suicidal thoughts and anyone concerned about a young person’s safety.

PAPYRUS’ work is built around five key pillars:

  • Support – Providing professional advice, information and life-saving intervention.
  • Equip – Delivering training and resources to strengthen community suicide prevention efforts.
  • Influence – Partnering and campaigning to improve suicide prevention policy and practice.
  • Sustain – Ensuring strong governance, financial resilience and long-term impact.
  • Enable – Investing in staff and volunteers to deliver effective, high-quality services.

Through direct support, community engagement and policy advocacy, PAPYRUS continues to play a leading role in youth suicide prevention across the UK.

Previous Charity Fundraising

We are incredibly proud of the funds raised in recent years through the generosity and support of our team, clients and community. Each year, the total amount raised is shared equally between our chosen charities.

2025
We raised £4,500 in support of World Veterinary Service and Wyre Rivers Trust, with the final amount split equally between both organisations.

2024
A fantastic total of £4,580 was raised for St. John’s Hospice and SALVE International. The funds were divided equally to support the vital work of each charity.

2023
We raised an impressive £4,693.53 for Kidney Research UK and North West Air Ambulance, with the total shared equally between the two causes.

We are grateful to everyone who has contributed to these achievements and helped make a meaningful difference year after year.
